Policies
Volunteer and worker responsibilities
What we ask of everyone who serves with Life Is A Gift Foundation.
For everyone
- Service and compassion
- Serve every person with kindness, patience and respect for their dignity.
- Respect for beneficiaries
- Never make help conditional on faith, worship, or anything in return. Respect people of every faith and none.
- Confidentiality
- Keep personal, medical and financial information private. Share it only with authorised LIGF staff who need it.
- Safeguarding
- Follow our safeguarding policy, never be alone with a child or vulnerable adult without agreement, and report concerns promptly.
- Financial stewardship
- Never collect, hold or spend money or goods for LIGF unless formally authorised, and always account for them.
- Accountability
- Follow instructions from your coordinator, record your activities honestly, and be open about mistakes.
- Conflicts of interest
- Declare any personal, family or business interest that could affect your work with LIGF.
Additionally, for ministry workers
- Prayer and spiritual commitment: a personal commitment to prayer and to living out the love of Christ.
- Evangelism responsibilities: share the Gospel respectfully and only with those who choose to listen, and never during the delivery of humanitarian assistance as a condition or expectation.
Giving, including donations and tithes, is always voluntary. No one is ever required to give in order to serve with LIGF.
Community volunteers are not required to share LIGF’s Christian beliefs.
